Angel

My life is a barren, cold, stale wasteland.
Empty of meaning.
Lacking in love.
Darkness enshrouds me.
But nay will it last.

For an angel parts the veil.
Her light parts the clouds.
Opens the shadows.
Blinds me.
Warms me.
A soft, soothing touch.
So feminine and caring.
So gentle and loving.
A caress of warmth upon my cold skin.
Blood rushes faster, heart beats harder.

Her eyes twinkle and sparkle.
Such contrast to my hollow, sunken eyes.
Her eyes are filled with life.

Her spirit lifts me from its motionless state.
Crumpled and cracked.
Broken and bruised.
But she heals.
I rise, higher and higher above the shadow
Above the darkness into the light.
I join her in the heavens.

He hair dances around her shoulders
A soft brown with shine and shimmer.
The light plays across her face
Illuminating her soft features.
Nothing sharp except the stare from her eyes.
But it is a calming stare.
An inviting stare.
A stare that says
“yes, I am here with you, for you.
You can be yourself and you will be loved.”
She sets me free from the shackles of mundane monotony.

She holds my hand and her spirit enters my body.
It finds my soul, brings it to the surface.
My body shakes and quivers, to be so vulnerable with another
She holds me, and I hold her closer.
Brush the hair from her face, out of her eyes.
I want to see the passion in her eyes.
Our souls combine for the moment we kiss.
Light shines upon us, warmth surrounds us as love enters through us.
Joining us in union.
